What drives the cost of the operation
1. Primary or revision surgery
Revision is a technically harder operation because of scarred tissue planes, depleted cartilage and altered blood supply. It is often one of the larger factors.
2. How much structure has to be built
Thicker skin usually needs more structural support to show definition. Building a framework takes more time and more graft material than reducing one.
3. Where the graft cartilage comes from
Septal cartilage is harvested within the same operative field. Where more is needed, a rib cartilage graft requires an additional donor site, with its own closure and recovery, and adds operating time.
4. Whether functional work is needed
Septal correction, turbinate treatment and valve repair are separate pieces of work performed in the same operation where needed.
5. Time in the operating room
Everything above translates into time in the operating room, and that time is a major driver of what an operation costs.

Why the lowest price is the wrong question
The expensive outcome in rhinoplasty is often not the first operation but a revision: a more demanding operation, sometimes needing rib cartilage, performed on tissue that has already been through one procedure, with a result that is harder to get right than it would have been the first time.
Choosing on price alone can lead to paying for two operations and living with a compromise. The variable worth optimizing is the surgeon's experience with anatomy like yours.
How to find out the cost for your own case
- Send five photos: front, both profiles, a three-quarter view and the base (looking slightly up), in natural light, without filters, and a short note about your breathing and what bothers you.
- You receive an initial opinion: whether your goal is realistic, what the operation would involve, and what it would not change.

Does insurance cover any of it?
