I am an ear, nose and throat specialist. That background matters for this work: the nose is an airway before it is a feature, and the two cannot be planned separately. Breathing problems and septal deviation are corrected in the same operation. A nose that looks better and breathes worse is a failed operation, regardless of how it photographs.

I studied medicine at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and completed my specialty training in ear, nose and throat surgery at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. I have been performing ENT surgery for about 13 years.

I also hold an international health tourism authorization certificate, issued in my name.

Operations take place at Medicana Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul, under general anesthesia, followed by one night in hospital. Consultations and the check-ups before you fly take place at the office in Nish Istanbul Residence, Bahçelievler.

Much published rhinoplasty technique is illustrated with thin skin over firm cartilage. Not all of it transfers well to a thicker, more sebaceous skin envelope with softer tip cartilage (lower lateral cartilage) and a wider base of the nostrils (alar base).

In that anatomy, reduction alone is often not the answer. Definition carved into cartilage does not show through thick skin; structure usually has to be built up so that shape can read through the covering. Cartilage comes from the septum, and where more is needed, from the rib. The aim is lasting structural support, although healing and long-term changes vary.

I operate with the open technique, using ultrasonic (piezo) instruments to shape the bone. Operating on this anatomy regularly is what builds the judgment to know how much definition a particular skin envelope will actually reveal.

One surgeon from consultation to follow-up

I am your operating surgeon and remain responsible for your surgical care from consultation to final review. The anesthesia team and hospital staff are part of your care, and their roles are explained before surgery. The person you consult before surgery is the person who checks you afterward.

A plan made after examination, not before

Photographs are enough to say whether your goal is realistic. They are not enough to finalize a plan: the inside of the nose has to be examined, because septal deviation, turbinate size and the state of the cartilage frequently change what the operation should be. You are welcome to bring photos of noses you like to the consultation.

Saying no when surgery is not the answer

Some requests are not achievable with the anatomy in front of me, and some patients are better served by not having surgery at all. Saying so costs a booking and prevents a bad result. It is part of the job.

Follow-up after you fly home

Because almost all of my patients heal in another country, follow-up is planned in advance. There is a check-up at the office a few days after surgery and a final check-up with me before you fly. Once you are home, the cast is removed and your check-ups continue by online video call with me.

1. You send five photos: front, both profiles, a three-quarter view and the base (looking slightly up), in natural light, without filters, plus a short note about your breathing and what bothers you.
2. You receive an initial opinion on whether your goal is realistic with your anatomy, what the operation would broadly involve, and what it would not change.
3. Once you book, the team sends an invitation letter for your visa application and arranges your hotel and airport transfers.
4. The in-person consultation and blood tests take place in Istanbul the day before surgery, and the plan is confirmed then.
